Kimesca is our new contemporary British modestwear brand, seamlessly merging the realms of high fashion and modesty, founded by my husband - Kamil, and myself. Our brand centres around a refined take on the modern modest woman, intertwined with the personal flare of our cultural fusion. As a British Pakistani muslim, my husband brought the rich traditions of the Islamic culture into our shared married life. During events tied to these traditions, I often found myself in some type of imposter state where I felt almost unworthy of wearing traditional clothing as if it belonged to a world I deeply respected but didn’t belong to. I would always ask my husband, "Do I look ok?" "It doesn't look like i'm wearing a costume, does it?" "Are you sure I can wear this?". From these experiences, I wanted to create contemporary modest gowns that I didn't have to question, because they were still me and they were still modest. With my background in the European fashion market, it was a very natural movement to amalgamate the two biggest happenings in my life.
